The terms of using CloudCat.
Last updated 9 June 2026. Plain language, no surprises. By creating an account you agree to these terms.
The service
CloudCat is software for cataloguing artwork, recording sales, raising invoices, and sharing and publishing collections. It is built and operated from Cape Town, South Africa.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity under your account. Let us know promptly if you think someone has gained access to it. You must be old enough to enter a contract in your country to use CloudCat.
Your content stays yours
Everything you put into CloudCat (your works, images, sales, invoices and contacts) remains yours. You grant us only the permission needed to store, process and display that content so we can provide the service to you (for example, serving your images through a CDN or publishing a site you've chosen to make public). We don't claim ownership of your work.
Acceptable use
When using CloudCat, you agree not to:
- break the law or infringe anyone else's rights, including copyright;
- upload malware or attempt to disrupt, probe or overload the service;
- resell or sublicense the service, or abuse the API to mirror it; or
- store content you don't have the right to store.
You are responsible for the personal details of buyers and collaborators you enter, and for having a lawful basis to store them.
Plans, trials and billing
Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe. Every plan starts with a free trial; you won't be charged until the trial ends. You can cancel at any time and your plan will run until the end of the period you've paid for; we don't charge again after you cancel. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. We'll give reasonable notice before any change to pricing.
Exporting and cancelling
You can export your full catalogue (works, invoices, sales, contacts and your original images) from the app at any time, and you can delete your account whenever you like. On deletion we remove your data as described in our Privacy policy. Please export anything you want to keep before deleting.
Availability
We work hard to keep CloudCat reliable and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may occasionally need to take the service down for maintenance.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, CloudCat is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data or profit. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Keep your own backups of anything critical.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms or put the service or other users at risk. Where it's reasonable to do so, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to put things right.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use CloudCat after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
