What we've shipped lately.
The features and improvements landing in CloudCat, newest first.
Invoices, redrawn
New- Record VAT on an invoice: set a rate in the seller details and a Subtotal and VAT line appears on the invoice and its PDF, with the total shown inclusive.
- Include biographies when you share a collection: a new Bio toggle on share links and PDF catalogues adds each represented creator’s biography — your own, on a solo account — as its own page.
- The dashboard now shows your sales at a glance — recent revenue, sale count and open invoice total.
- The sales page gains its own dashboard: monthly revenue bars for the last twelve months and an invoiced-versus-outstanding split, beside the list of sales.
- A service-status indicator in the sidebar: on the rare occasion CloudCat is having trouble, a small dot and note appear; when all is well you see nothing.
Changed- Invoice PDFs are redrawn in a cleaner monospaced layout, and each line item now carries a properly labelled caption, captured at invoicing time so the document stays as issued. Older invoices can be brought up to date with the new Recalculate action on the invoice page.
- Saved share links are now summary cards with a dedicated edit page, and a collection’s Appearance settings have moved into the Share hub alongside them.
- Recording a sale is simpler when you’re selling your own work: the seller and commission fields stay tucked away unless the sale was made on someone’s behalf.
- Create buttons now say what they add — “Add Sale”, “Add Buyer” — and after adding a contact or artist inline, the picker closes and briefly highlights where the new entry landed.
Fixed- The invoice PDF header now shows the right seller name, resolved the same way as your share pages and catalogues.
- Panels keep your scroll position when you navigate back to them, including on mobile.
Exhibitions, now on your site
New- Your exhibition history now appears on your published site: a CV of your shows on your About page, each with its venue, dates, curator and type.
- Share a single work with several of its images, not just the main one.
- Choose how a cover image carries its text: laid over the image, or on a band beneath it.
- Place any of a work’s images on a wall, not only its main photograph.
Changed- Published share pages now update themselves while open — price, availability and status changes reach a viewer without a reload.
- Live updates now reach solo workspaces, keeping your catalogue in step across your own tabs and devices.
- Galleries can create a new creator inline while adding their first item, instead of setting one up first.
- The sale and contact forms are tidier: clearer sections, a combined %/£ discount toggle, and quicker buyer and seller linking.
- Deploy hooks now show the failure cause and HTTP status inline when a test fire fails.
- On the Folio template, every image on a work now gets its own full-width slot.
Fixed- Collection PDFs no longer include images you’ve marked to ignore.
- Shared collections now show only the images you’ve curated, not a work’s other linked shots.
- Removing a work from an installation shot now also clears that shot from the work’s own image selections.
- A cover homepage with no image set now shows its navigation and Explore button in readable colours.
- Lightbox arrows now hide correctly on mobile Safari.
Exhibitions
New- Keep an exhibition history alongside your catalogue: record each show with its venue, curator, run dates, type (solo, group, duo or art fair), add the works that were in it, and upload installation shots with their own captions and tags.
- CloudCat now suggests which of your catalogue works appear in each installation shot, so you can confirm, dismiss, or re-scan a photo to link the pieces in it without hunting them down by hand.
- A new image-mosaic homepage for your website: a patchwork of every image across your collections, each tile linking through to its piece. Choose it — or a full-screen cover, or the collection grid — as your homepage.
- Images now fade in from a soft blur while they load, across the app, the lightbox and your published site, so pages feel settled instead of popping in.
- See an image’s dimensions, file size and upload date, and download the original, from installation shots and media-library images too — not just a work’s own photographs.
- Deploy hooks can now carry custom request headers and a JSON body, with a Fire button to test a hook there and then.
- A bank Sort Code field on invoices, for UK bank details.
- CloudCat now flags when an image you’re uploading looks like one already in your catalogue, so you can catch a duplicate before it’s added.
Changed- Invoice editing is reworked: the header details and the line items are now separate surfaces, with summary cards and jump-to-section links so long invoices are quicker to move around.
- Share pages on the simple and clean templates now open the lightbox on phones, and you can swipe through a piece’s images directly.
- Trial and plan reminder emails now name the site that’s affected and take multi-workspace owners straight to the right account’s billing.
Fixed- Deleting an image now also removes it from any collection storyboards it appeared in, instead of leaving a gap.
- Smart collections no longer show a remove button on their works — membership there follows your rules, not manual removal.
- Fewer false “unsaved changes” warnings when leaving a form you’ve already saved or closed.
- Long unbroken links in a description now wrap on your published site instead of overflowing the page.
- New
- Choose a cover or share image from any item in your workspace, not just the collection's own, via a new “show all” switch on the image picker.
- Turn off cropping on a share image block or an item's secondary images, so the picture shows in full instead of being cropped to fit.
Changed- On the Folio site template, tapping a work in the collection grid on a phone or tablet now opens its images straight in the lightbox — instead of jumping to the item's own page — with position dots marking your place among multiple images.
- New
- Hide any work from every public view — your website, collection pages, share links and the API — while it stays fully visible and editable in your own catalogue. A Hidden badge marks it in your lists.
- Filter by exclusion as well as inclusion: narrow your works, and smart collections, to everything that doesn’t carry a given tag, status, creator or field value, alongside your usual include filters.
- Filter your smart collections by date: match any part of a work’s date — a year, say — to gather everything from that period together.
Changed- You’re now warned before navigating away from a form with unsaved changes, so a stray click can’t quietly lose your edits.
A new site template
New- Folio, a new full-bleed exhibition-style website template: your works fill the width of the page, one to a screen, separated by clean dividers, with a poster-scale cover and a lightbox that reveals captions.
- A new “destroyed by the artist” status, alongside on loan and gifted, for pieces that no longer exist.
Changed- Choose your site’s cover image from your whole image library, not just a single work’s photographs.
- Colour changes in the appearance editor now preview live, without reloading the page.
- Analytics now says “views” throughout, and saved share links show when each was last opened rather than a running count.
See who's visiting
New- See how your published site and share links are doing, with a visitor analytics dashboard: page views over time, plus an acquisition breakdown showing where your visitors came from — direct, referrals, and tagged campaign links.
- Run an open edition with no fixed size — leave the edition total blank and prints are numbered without a denominator (“3” rather than “3/10”), with no risk of an edition selling out.
Changed- From a contact’s sales, each row now links straight through to the work or edition it’s for, and shows a tappable invoice chip carrying the invoice’s date.
- Once a sale is recorded against a work or edition, its “for sale” setting stays locked until the sale is removed, so the commercial history can’t drift out of step.
Fixed- The “up to date” indicator on the sync screen now refreshes as soon as you edit content, instead of lagging behind.
For sale, or not
New- Mark a work or edition as for sale, and follow it through a clear commercial lifecycle — Available, then Reserved or Consigned, then Sold — shown as a timeline so you can see where each piece sits at a glance. Pieces that aren’t for sale are tracked as not for sale, on loan, or gifted instead, so the status always fits the situation.
Changed- A sale’s list price and the work or edition’s own list price now stay in step — set it in one place and the other follows.
Fixed- Shared collection pages with a cover image no longer show the title twice on desktop.
Storyboard your collections
New- Build a collection as a storyboard: arrange your works and drop in text, dividers, and standalone images between them, all in one running order. The blocks flow through to your shared pages and PDF catalogues.
Changed- Selecting and ordering a work’s images for a collection is now a single grid — click a tile to include it, drag to reorder, with the lead image badged “Main”.
Fixed- Landscape images on your published site now scale up to fill their column and the lightbox, instead of showing tiny.
Tag your work images
New- Tag and caption the individual images on a work, just as you already do in the media library. Both draw from one shared pool of image tags.
- Open any work or media image full-screen from its edit panel or grid while you’re managing your catalogue.
Saved share links
New- Save as many share links to a collection as you like (each with its own name, its own price, availability and description toggles, and an optional expiry date) and see how many times each one has been opened. Create and manage them all from a new Share hub on the collection, or download a PDF catalogue from the same place.
Changed- Shared collection links now show their full-screen cover image on desktop too, not only on mobile.
- Saved share links now show at a glance whether each link reveals price and availability.
A cover for your homepage
New- Lead your website homepage with a full-screen cover image and an optional tagline. Your works move to their own page with an Explore button to get there. Leave the cover off and the homepage stays the collection grid as before.
- A full-screen lightbox on individual work pages, cycling through every image of the piece with a directional slide between them (on larger screens).
Fixed- On the clean template, collection cover images now fill the card width, so landscape covers are no longer shown tiny.
Export all your data
New- Export your full catalogue from Billing → Export data: separate JSON files for works, invoices, sales and contacts, plus a single download of every original image.
- New
- Trial and plan reminders, in-app and by email: a heads-up before your trial ends and clear notices through expiry, each showing the exact dates your site would go dark and your data would be removed, so nothing comes as a surprise.
Changed- Custom domains have been redesigned into a tidy list with a dedicated page for each domain: a step-by-step setup timeline, live status that advances on its own, and a one-click automatic setup for supported providers.
- Changed
- Collection sharing now follows the same pattern as single-work sharing: one Share button to generate a signed link or download a PDF, with price, availability, and description toggles chosen each time.
Fixed- Renaming a collection no longer breaks its existing links: old collection URLs now redirect to the current one on your site.
Share a single work
New- Share any single work as a private link or a printable PDF tear sheet. No login needed, and the recipient sees only that piece.
- Bulk actions in the media library: select several images at once to tag or delete them in one go.
Changed- Press ⌘/Ctrl + Enter to save from anywhere inside a form, without reaching for the mouse.
- New
- Per-collection appearance overrides, so a shared selection can look different from your main site.
- An intro paragraph on collections, shown above the works on the shared page.
- A new “Large Grid” view for works, alongside List and Grid. Pick the density that suits your catalogue.
- Export wall labels as rich text (RTF), with titles kept in italics for pasting straight into a document.
Media library
New- A workspace-wide media library: upload, browse, caption, tag and filter images in one place, separate from individual work records.
- Image tags as their own type, so you can organise photographs independently of works.
- Use any media-library image as a collection cover.
- Export wall labels (captions) directly from a collection.
Changed- New works now appear at the top of the list, so what you just added is the first thing you see.
- New
- Filter and bulk-select works when adding them to a collection.
- Custom ordering and per-work image selection for smart collections.
- New
- A full-screen lightbox on shared pages that cycles through every work in the selection.
- Create tags directly from the Tags settings screen.
- A Title field on works, shown before the medium.
Changed- The work “Year” field is now “Date”, matching the way captions read.
Invoicing
New- Payment terms (Net 7 / 15 / 30 / 60) with due dates worked out for you, alongside a reworked invoice detail view.
- Link an invoice to a contact as the buyer, with business identity fields on both contacts and invoices.
Changed- The invoice list now shows status icons and a one-click PDF download from the toolbar.
Collection PDFs
New- Proportional image sizing for PDFs and shared sites, so works print and display at their true relative scale.
- A clickable logo watermark and a two-line footer on exported PDFs.
Changed- A thorough pass over collection PDF export: clearer captions, full-bleed layouts, a closing page, and larger page numbers.
- New
- A full-screen cover page for share links on mobile.
- An optional work-description field on collections, shown only when you choose to include it.
- New
- Choose a serif, sans, or monospace font for PDF export.
Changed- Email verification now appears immediately after signup, with the verification email sent straight away.
- Rewritten custom-domain setup guidance for non-technical users, with clearer diagnostics when a domain gets stuck.
- New
- Add your own tracking or code injection on custom domains.
- A heading-size control in the site appearance editor.
Changed- The simple site template now shows work images as a thumbnail gallery.
- New
- A dashboard onboarding guide, with harmonised empty states across the app.
Changed- New prices now default to the currency of your most recent price.
Subscriptions & billing
New- Billing is live: manage your subscription through Stripe checkout and the customer portal, with plan limits enforced across the app.
- New
- Live DNS lookup results while you set up a custom domain.
Changed- “Add Work” now starts with image upload, so the photographs lead the record.
Fixed- Duplicating a collection keeps its type, and invoices can be saved while still empty.
